Stories are how we make sense of the worlds we inhabit—and the worlds we imagine.
Meet Winnie Ardouin
Winnie Ardouin writes speculative fiction and historical fantasy inspired by mythology, folklore, and the complicated beauty of human nature. Her stories explore the places where ancient beliefs meet intimate human experiences: love and loyalty, power and sacrifice, identity and belonging.
Drawn to Celtic and Norse traditions, the mysteries of the ancient world, and the enduring questions at the heart of literature, Winnie creates worlds where the extraordinary reveals something familiar about being human. Her fiction ranges from myth-infused contemporary fantasy to dark romantasy and historically grounded tales of magic and conflict.
After years working in a data-driven profession, she returned to a lifelong love of storytelling and began pursuing graduate study in creative writing. She is currently developing several long-form fiction projects while exploring the craft of speculative fiction.
Beyond the Page
In her journal, Winnie writes about literature, creativity, mythology, and the sometimes uncertain process of becoming a writer. It is a space for curiosity, reflection, and conversations that begin long after a book is closed.
Away from the writing desk, Winnie is an enthusiastic maker who enjoys everything from fiber arts and embroidery to woodcarving, painting, and jewelry making. She is equally at home on a hiking trail or beside a campfire, finding inspiration in the natural world. A practicing Druid, she is completing her Bardic Grade coursework. Her household also includes five much-loved companions: cats Sigriðr, Saorlaith, and Skýjarúna, and dogs Scotia and Starkwulf.
